Great question for identifying your juicy benefits = “How are people different after working with me?”
How do we find our ideal client, once we know who they are, so we know where to spend our marketing time and dollars, and juicy words?
My personal opinion is that this is where what Lisa calls the “target” is helpful. If you’re target is something relatively broad like “women,” you can start by going to women’s networking groups like eWomen Network and start narrowing it down from there.

Great question Linda and PJ is on the money. So if you know your target is Women but your Ideal Client is Women who love to travel and value high-end service, you can begin to narrow down the Women’s groups to those that are likely have these types of women. Perhaps a travel club or language course!

That is really the big issue in promoting your business, because it is marketing you and we all feel (I am sure) like a used car salesman when speaking highly about ourselves and what we offer in our business.
I liked what Lisa shared about how if you’re worried about bragging, you aren’t (because people that brag don’t worry about it) ; D
I’m a single mom trying to figure out how to maximize time with my son and thrive financially working no more than 4 days each week. The closest I’ve come to working for someone else in the last 9 years is part-time work for a spa as a massage therapist. I’ve had my own businesses as a jewelry designer, professional organizer, and massage therapist over the years, as well as offering intuitive readings, and Feng Shui. Friends have suggested making use of my foodie skills (gluten-free baking & cooking, gardening and fruit tree knowledge). I’m sure a niche will help me focus my tremendous energy, but still haven’t landed on what it might be.

Wow, you must have loved the part of my talk on Multiple Ideal Client Personality Disorder! You have take it even further with clearly having multiple businesses. It happens to the best of us that are passionate about lots of things. My philosophy is to go with the thing that feels the best. The one you are most excited about. Because in the end, when you are tired from being up at night with your son, it’s your shear passion that is going to keep you going. So, NOT what you’ve always done or have done for a long time, but what you are most excited about building in the future!!! Marinate, meditate and massage on that one….

I definitely felt like Multiple Ideal Client Personality Disorder fits me in some ways! But on a deeper level, it is more like you say about identifying what I am most excited about building in the future. Especially when I am tired out from mothering. And that has been the hard one to figure out, especially when it might mean jumping into the unfamiliar, putting myself out professionally in a way I never have before. I am perhaps more hung up on massage not being the right fit for me than I am about what it is I’d rather do.

I have been in business with my company since March of this year. How could you run a business like wellness, teaching people how to be healthy and by the way, Michigan is ranked tenth in the nation for obesity. It is so hard in this state with the economy. How can you get people to take getting healthy on, to stay in business?
