Jesse’s comment about “overcoming” something in a particular niche has left me feeling a bit worried that there isn’t a place for me to coach…I haven’t overcome the money struggle, I haven’t had a major health issue or relationship issue…I haven’t overcome the struggle to find a niche :)! Is this a case of having to try on several things that I just like to talk about until I hit on something that might work?
That’s one approach of many. That’s why we’re exploring this topic over several months and interviewing 26 people. Some of the information will click perfectly and some won’t.

Well, it is very hard for me to find my niche. I have many many interests, much training. And some times I think I want to teach rather than be a coach.
You can teach. Just find a subject that people desperately want solutions for. And you’ll be paid well for your teachings.
I can totally appreciate that! That’s why we’re offering this series of interviews as the most comprehensive resource on niche marketing in the universe. ; D
You’re in the right place at the right time. Be easy with all of this. I recommend getting as many of the calls as you can, asking questions on the blog (like you’re doing), and allowing yourself time and space to sit with this topic.
PJ do emotional problems fall under the “health” category? Such as the “problem” of unhappiness, which many people are aware of having? Or in terms of niche, would this area require looking at how unhappiness creates problematic circumstances?
Thanks for you input! I appreciated the call today.
Thanks, Tamara!
You could definitely put them in the health category!
You could also craft a message around emotional problems impacting your job (money) or relationships (relationships) if you wanted to.
What kind of emotional problems specifically?
This is an interesting one because emotional issues show can effect us in so many areas of our lives and show up in unexpected places. Some emotional issues show up in the body, for others there is the tendency to become too busy. Really there are so many ways to cope with emotional issues that is is really the chosen coping strategy that become the problem. I see that this category can be health or even more of a spiritual issue such as life purpose.
Thank you for that generous offer Jesse – can’t wait to work with you!
And thanks for all the great information you shared with us today!
You’re so welcome!!
Is there a big enough tribe of people who are unhappy in their work and want support to have the courage to change their livelihood and life? any thoughts on this?
Yes, it would be interesting to see what percentage of the population hates/dreads their job that they spend the majority of their waking hours at. My guess is 50% which makes it a GREAT niche!
You could even focus on a particular career area… like helping unhappy doctors (or lawyers or IT professionals) escape their job & redesign their life.
Thank you both for your answers and ideas. Something to think about PJ, focusing in on a particular profession.
It’s so easy to get caught up looking far and wide for the right niche. I love the idea that my niche is right in front of me. Thanks for another great teleseminar. Jesse was great!
Your welcome, thanks for being on the call!!
It would be nice to interact with someone else on the call regarding this topic… this has been done on other calls….
Thanks, Rob! I’m not sure what you mean…
Just to recap…. the Five Most Prosperous Niche Categories…?
1. Money
2. Health
3. Relationships
4. Beauty
5. Spirituality / Life Purpose / Personal Development
i really struggle with having to have so many “secrets” to offer and being an expert. thank you for your words on this.
Can you be more specific with your question?
that was just an appreciation for speaking to one of my internal struggles about having to be 50 steps ahead of my clients, instead of 2 or 3! 🙂
Oh, great! You’re very welcome!
the parent analogy is perfect. that just made perfect sense! breaking through!!
Awesome!!
Thank you for that offer, Jesse! Sounds fantastic.
Yay! You will LOVE it! Here’s the link: http://tinyurl.com/nicheyourbiz
Great call! How do you choose a niche market when its only a product I’m selling (maritime watercolor paintings: http://www.SteveMayoArt.com) rather than coaching people to solve a problem?
Consider who are the types of people / businesses that would purchase these? Yacht clubs? People that are super into sailing? The problem could be that they are trying to decorate a space with a maritime theme and not finding the right art.
So there are different areas of focus:
– 18th Century Sailing Ships (historically accurate based on ship’s logs – a watercolor painting that’s like a photograph from the past) – these are popular with Maritime Historical Museum fans, purchased for bank decor, etc..
– Tugboats (such as Foss Maritime)
– Tramp Freighters
– Fishing Boats
So are those all separate niches since they have different fan bases?
I’d say drill down until you get to a potential client base of 50,000, like Jesse suggested. So if there are 50,000 people in the world that are into 18th Century Sailing Ships, then focus on that. If not, make it a *little* more general.
You can do some keyword research (refer to the call with Adryenn Ashley on how to do that) and see how many people are searching for those various things to give you an idea of how many people you can reach.
PJ–where would my organic nursery fall? Saving Money? Better health?
I think you could approach it from the MONEY door or the HEALTH door. When they come through one door, they get both benefits.
I am kind of having a bit of a breakthrough. my product is organic kitchen garden vegetables. that is what i sell. i own a nursery. my clients can really be anyone. i can target a certain type of person like busy moms and dads, or busy professionals, but really in the end. my niche is my vegetable plants right??
Nysha, I think that as you start to interview & get to know your clients, you will see some patterns emerge. There are certain types of people who care about buying organic and who care about the products and services you offer. See how they identify themselves.
i’ve been in the nursery biz for 2 years now…and they really cross all sorts of parameters. i think i need to sit down and look at my database and see what the similarities are!
I would add to it that your niche is the urgent problem you solve… organic might be one… but are there others, like overwhelmed moms who don’t have time for shopping. Is there a way that you could help make it easier for them to shop organic?
Where would travel fall in the 5 most profitable niches
With travel, like life coaching, you can help such a WIDE range of people that it’s up to you to discover which “door” you want to take people through.
Some ideas / examples:
You can come at it through the MONEY door in terms of saving money on travel.
You can come at it through the RELATIONSHIPS door in terms of putting together honeymoon packages or singles cruises or family reunion trips, etc.
You can come at it through the HEALTH door in terms of promoting detox cruises or the health benefits of taking vacations
great, clear example PJ
Thanks, Karen! : D

Can’t wait for the call today! It’s going to be amazing!
Can’t wait to share some great gems about niche with you!!!!!!
You are the niche master! : D
I really heard that bringing mastery to one thing is so very important. It’s true that I love texture and color and silk is so yummy; while I’m good at it, my heart tells me I’m needing to give myself to being a hand analyst, and stop trying to do soooo much.
Jesse, will your workshop cover subjects such as going beyond one-hour readings? I haven’t watched your video yet but plan to today.
I will be looking at taking your 2-day training, using the scholarship you’re so generously offered. Thank you so much to all of you for these sessions.
Good call on registering for the 2-day, Elizabeth. You will love it! : D
I have 2 different areas that I want to develop an income with: silk painting (fine arts and hand-dyed garments) and Hand Analysis/life purpose coaching. My questions: Is it possible to work with both, or do I need to choose one and give it my most energy? At this point, I’m feeling like I’m in limbo (the student side of my life purpose…). Help!
I believe that Jesse is going to address this on the call today.
