  • Thanks for another great call. Wasn’t by the computer to post my takeaway. The one that jumped out for me was instant gratification.

    Thanks.

  • Tony,
You can get the replay by buying the List-Building Success Kit.

You can get the kit for 90% off during List-a-Palooza here:
    https://prosperitytrainings.com/lbc14kit.html

  • Tony Dollars says:

My regretful apology!! I’d hoped for the best, but was too late to catch it PJ! Is there a replay available?

  • niki says:

QQQ What a fabulous session! It would be hard to pick out the best takeaway….probably that it takes as much work to get large list numbers as small numbers.

Thank you, PJ, for everything that you add to these calls. Your willingness to open up your spreadsheets and share such valuable insider info. is stunning.

One question for you, PJ: you mentioned 250 links during the call. Are those all links to your opt-in page coming from different sources?

    Warmly,

    Niki

  • PJ Van Hulle says:

Thank you for sharing your insights and a-ha moments! 😀

  • Thanx Justin & PJ–great interview, lots of juicy tips. I appreciate the emphasis on joint venture partners. I am doing a bloghop that starts Sep.8 but didn’t think to promote in mailings. Also, lead with offering to help first before asking their help. Good business & in life.

Trying to understand the evergreen thing better. I am an artist & coach but principally want to promote my artwork, originals & prints. Not sure what series of offers I might make. Any clarification/suggestions appreciated.

  • Linda says:

PJ — Going to get the success kit right now! I know I will listen to these again as each segment pops up in my future needs! At the price you’re offering, all I’m paying for is the beginning sessions I missed! You are too generous to us! Many thanks and blessings.

  • Instant Gratification makes so much sense! I’ve heard it before but it really Landed for me the way Justin said it. Thank You Justin and PJ!!!

  • Linda says:

    My surprising TakeAway?
That it’s more beneficial to offer people instant gratification than more value!

I always believed in quality, value, ease.

  • Coach Adam says:

I liked the part about giving people something simple that they can use right not in exchange for their opt-in. I’m rethinking what I’m going to offer now. Thanks so much!

  • Marilyn says:

The instant gratification piece was Gold for me. Having your information, ads, offers etc.. talk about the instant gratification they will get when they join your list. Love it.

  • Coach Stacy says:

I think for me the best advice was: to have partners focus on launches, and reserve your paid media for your evergreen sequences 🙂

Thanks Justin & PJ for today, have a GREAT weekend All!

    • I LOVED this piece too. I saw it in action before when the had a launch but now I know what was going on. Gr8 strategy!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

That was a big one for me, too! 😀

  • LeeAnn Hardy says:

Thank you Justin and PJ. I loved the tip about tracking more than you think you’ll need in the beginning.

  • Linda says:

FANTASTIC! That would work so well for me! Thank you so much Justin. Very grateful.

  • Marilyn says:

I’ve seen some of those lessons and they are brilliant. I have learned a lot from Justin.

  • PJ Van Hulle says:

  • Corinne says:

I am so sad. I have a client now. I LOVE this interview. Thank you for your GREAT content!! I don’t want to leave.

  • Corinne says:

Thank you for your insight about launches. You can seriously send 9 emails in a launch? I’m setting one up now and was being incredibly conservative about the number of emails.

  • PJ Van Hulle says:

How is this conversation about tracking landing? Is it exciting? Freaking you out?

    • I’m somewhat new to tracking… I have no idea how to do it… well I’ll see what Justin is join got say.

How would you actually use the information? Do you adjust your marketing strategy accordingly?

      • PJ Van Hulle says:

To start out, look at how many people are visiting your website (which you can see on Google analytics) and how many people are opting in to your list (which you can see in your e-mail marketing software).

That will give you your average opt in rate.

Opt Ins / Traffic = Opt In Rate

Next, keep track of how many people actually sign up for your paid products / programs / services.

Sales / Opt Ins = Conversion Rate

Those are the big 3: Traffic / Opt Ins / Sales

Then take it to the next level by tracking those 3 things by lead source, using affiliate tracking links.

    • Corinne says:

I’m a nut about the technical stuff. I think it’s the ADHD in me.

It excites me because it’s like a big fun human behavioral game.

You get hooked on what makes people feel moved to action.

Can send you what we use that is the best word-press plug-in – send me an email corinne@findfiercefocus.com It’s not in front of me right now or I’d share it now.

      • PJ Van Hulle says:

        Awesome, Corinne! 😀

  • Coach Adam says:

QQQ how do you track in your opt-in page where the leads came from?

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Great question! Justin is talking about this right now…

    • Corinne says:

Hook it to the affiliate link you made for your giveaway- what Justin is saying about tags should be in your affiliate area.

Google analytics completely rocks! SO easy!

  • Corinne says:

    Great point about metrics!

++++It’s very easy to put up an A/B split-test with google analytics. Go to your webmaster tools.

I think putting up 4 split test pages with different opt-in gifts is smart to start.
2 pages same gift, each page different copy.

I did this with an e-course, and an e-book to see what converts better with shorter copy on 2 of the pages.
Track both with the affiliate source used to get to the opt-in.
People from different sites like to consume differently.

Metrics are critical. Like any other goal you have to benchmark and track what works.

++++PJ just revealed really interesting stat 30% social media versus 98% to list.
71% on facebook events? wow. .02% on twitter out of 15000 hits- you just gave a very important example. Thank you!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Thanks for sharing, Corinne! If you like this level of geeking out, make sure you jump on our Closing Ceremonies next week… I’ll be sharing what has worked best (and worst) in promoting List-a-Palooza this year. 😀

  • Corinne says:

Takeaway: Instant gratification and not how much value you can give people for free.

“My number 1 favorite tip for sales from stage versus whole series out converts in split test.”

So, not emphasize overall value but what can use right now.

How does that fit with need for a JV to have partner giving free gifts of high value to their audience?

Would you comment? If you give away a flow chart of 1 page, is it the assumption that your JV partner is then following up with a lot of free high quality content?

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Justin has his JV partners promote the instant gratification gifts… they are also very high perceived value (like their Event Filling Blueprint).

      • Corinne says:

        Thank you!
        I think I get it.

I honestly dismissed the idea of 1 page blueprints as not high value enough because not enough content. I resisted giving away a one page what you need to know in sequence about branding because it seemed too simple.

I’m grateful to get this perspective.

Now I want the Event Filling Blueprint example!

        • PJ Van Hulle says:

Actually, giving something away that’s only 1-3 pages that people can use immediately is extremely attractive because people are busy! If they can get value quickly, that’s a huge win. 😀

  • PJ Van Hulle says:

Focus on instant gratification over how much value you can give someone for free… that’s a game changer! 😀

    • Yes! Amazing ah-ha! So many people emphasise giving high value for your freebie, but overlook the instant gratification hook!

  • Hi,
I’m Sharon Roemmel. I empower women to be radically clear & unshakeable confident as they shine their light into the world. We focus on pairing equally powerful purpose & self care.

  • Corinne says:

    Great point.

Go for the bigger return with JV’s who are the right fit who have a big list.

No need to be shy if you’re putting in the same type of work.

Takeaway- Justin said: “What are you giving my people for free, valuable, that they want and need; I will promote.”

    Thank you!

  • Corinne says:

Hi, It’s Corinne from Fierce Focus. Currently building a program launch- online branding boot camp for women ( http://www.brazenbschool.com ).

Thank you for bringing us Justin today!

Great interview hitting home the need to make list-building a priority. I appreciate the candor about how the focus shifted from live conversion to the easier gains made by nurturing a list.

Whole series opened my eyes. Have personally ignored the importance of growing a list. Have favored offline interaction. Very easy to close sales offline.

Am appreciating the realization that you have the same personality online as off- why not be more vocal with email- you can much more effectively leverage your time with a list.

SO happy this event has 1 more week! Any chance you’d like to take it into September?

    Thank you!

Great that you are talking about the “what can go wrong” mindset hurdle.

Takeaway: Not taking things personally. Better when people self-select out of the list if they aren’t meant to be your clients. Assume nothing about the motivation of unsubscribers.

  • Coach Stacy says:

    Hello Everyone, Hello Justin,

Thanks for being here today, GREAT to finally get acquainted with Callan’s other (business) half.

Thank you PJ for arranging this, looking forward to learning more.

Mindfully counting down Lisat-a-palooza – 2 live interviews after this. Wow 😐

  • Coach Adam says:

    Hi Everyone,

I’m Coach Adam in Los Angeles. I love helping people bring out their passion and develop it into their Livelihood.  Before I discovered my passion I worked jobs I didn’t like, that sucked the life out of me just to make money.  I hate to see anyone do that so I created a program to help people identify their passion and discover how to make their living doing what they Love.

    Ready to go!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Welcome back, Adam!

  • Linda says:

Is this the last day already? Best training program EVER!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

It’s NOT the last day! We have one more week after this. 😀

      • Linda says:

Thanks, PJ and thank God! Read it in a comment I think Tuesday, and panicked. Not ready for it to be over yet.

        • niki says:

          Hey, Linda!

I feel the same way, although PJ may enjoy the idea of a little break! All of the speakers have been just wonderful. Here’s to a final great last week.

          Niki

  • I’m so excited to Justin as our speaker today! YAY!!!
