    Hello PJ and Amethyst,

Awesome training call today. I think I put my question on the wrong page (forgive me).

I have a Meetup group of 682 women, some active, some not of course. I’d love to get them into a group on Facebook and wondered what your thought were on this.

Also, I have a facebook business page and some groups but I’m struggling on what I should name it. How important is the name in your group? Should it be somewhat the same as your business or should I name it one of my programs or products?

    • Amethyst says:

      Danette,

I would create a Facebook group for your Meetup group. While many people find your group on Meetup, people tend to not interact there as much as they do on Facebook. Now that Meetup has raised their prices yet again, I know a lot of people who have shut their Meetup group down all together and moved over to the free Facebook community. That may not be the best strategy for your particular group, but it does happen. πŸ˜‰

As far as what to name your business, I address that in the free guide I offered on today’s call. You can find it here: http://tinyurl.com/lbc15amethyst

  • Paula Mooney says:

    Hi,

My name’s Paula Mooney. I’m a self-proclaimed Technidiot and know only the basics about Facebook.

I sooo enjoyed this call. I learned so much, Amethyst (and PJ!), and it was FUN. You have very engaging personalities!

I have to quickly transcribe my “chicken-scratch” before I forget your pearls of wisdom.

    Thanks so much!!!

    • Amethyst says:

Thanks, Paula! So glad you could make it today! πŸ˜€

  • Veronica says:

    Great info. Thanks ladies.

  • Amethyst says:

If you’re trying to get the free guide with a different email address, there is a little x at the top right-hand corner of the box to delete the info so you can enter what you’d like. It can be hard to see sometimes.

If it’s not working for you, send me a message at support@BeASpiritualBadass.com and I will get you set up! πŸ˜€

  • Thank you ladies, all this information on FB groups has been very inspiring.

  • Tania says:

    BIG THANK YOU!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Thanks for your great questions, Tania! πŸ˜€

  • Nicole says:

Hi Amethyst – you addressed this question, then answered with “I don’t know if I really answered that” – I’m still not clear, could you please say a bit more? THANKS!

    Original question:

How do you provide value and keep conversation going within the community when your focus is a physical PRODUCT line? I don’t necessarily want to tell people how to make their own products – I’d like to encourage them to try mine. I’m stumped on how to provide value.

(I make body products without any additives or toxic stuff.) πŸ™‚

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Nicole, if you look at the WHY behind your business, like Amethyst suggested, it sounds like you could probably create a group around the values of living green and occasionally promote your products, which are in alignment with those values.

      • Amethyst says:

Yes, those would be great topics to focus on. Check out your other values for topics of conversation as well. Many living green people also value:

        * healthy eating and/or vegetarian/vegan/raw foods and recipes
        * organic food and products
        * frugal living
        * small housing, solar and wind power
        * yoga

You can also see what they’re posting about on their own profiles and in other groups and add that to your topic list.

(Spying on Facebook – I highly recommend it!) πŸ˜€

  • Sharon Nix says:

I love this! I’m learning so much from these calls.

  • Tania says:

This was great info! Thanks Amethyst and Pj!!!

Pj- it would be great to have a listapalooza FB page just to connect with others from our group even if you don’t want to be posting. I totally get that πŸ™‚

    Thanks for everything!!!

  • Gwenda Joyce says:

Thanks for so many helpful hints, Amethyst! It inspires me to do more with facebook.

    • Amethyst says:

Yay, I’m glad, Gwenda! There are 1 billions people on Facebook, and there are ways to connect with your people without spending a dime. πŸ˜€

  • Thank you for answering! And PJ you cracked me up on not responding in your group! Thanks for making me laugh.

    • I’m confused on the challenge and monetizing it when you keep talking about it being free(?)

      • PJ Van Hulle says:

I suspect that it’s free to participate in the challenge and people gift out free gifts. Then once people opt in for free gift, they get a paid offer (like when you sign up for the free List-a-Palooza challenge, you then get the chance to pick up the List-Building Success Kit for 90% off).

        • Amethyst says:

Yes, that’s exactly it, PJ! πŸ˜€

You can also invite people to work with you and give out Breakthrough Sessions as prizes. I also now give out paid prizes now, but I recommend that after you have a couple under your belt. πŸ˜€

          • Thank you SO much Amethyst and PJ! I am new to social media and chose to focus on Facebook. I’ve been consistent posting 3-5 times per week on my business page and – gasp – enjoying it. I teach the importance of disconnecting from technology to recharge, so the thought of being so connected gives me cause to feel stress! (I’m with you PJ on the freedom value). So, the group sounded like being even more connected. But what you described sounded doable. You’re right Amethyst that everyone talks about Facebook ads and the business page numbers. Thanks so much for the thought provoking call!

  • I’m in, Ameythyst! YAY!!!

    • Amethyst, that is. Too excited to type correctly!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Congratulations, Cindy! πŸ˜€

    • Amethyst says:

Yay!!! Can’t wait to see what you do with your community! πŸ˜€

  • ZINA says:

How long do you have access the the modules and info
    in the program?

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Unlimited! πŸ˜€

  • Hi Amethyst!

qq How do you manage a group, your page, your other social media networks and the everyday operations of your business with such limited time? I’m out in the field so much and find it challenging to find time to post (even weekly).
