Just in the nick of time as I am transitioning from iWeb to WordPress…yayyy! Shocking reality check–“how much money your loosing while you’ve been meaning build your website”! Thanks so much Emily and PJ! Feeling inspired and motivated to get it done.

Update!!! I’ve decided to extend one of the bonuses I offered on today’s call. I said the bonus private consultation with me was just for the first 5 people to sign up. I’ve decided to extend it to everyone who joins FAB Lab by midnight tonight (Pacific time)! That’s a 30-minute private consultation with me if you choose the monthly payment option or a 90-minute consultation with me if you choose the full pay option. Both options are available on the page you’ll see after opting in for the ebook here: http://tinyurl.com/lbc15emily

  • Tania says:

Not sure if you’re still there but how often would you recommend to email our list?

    • Emily Levy says:

That depends on your business and your audience. I think PJ’s suggestion of sending a regular email with tips every other week is a good one. You’ll end up emailing more often than that because you will be sending folks other things as well, like announcements, special offers, joint venture promotions, etc. In general, I think more is better, but only if you’re sending quality stuff. So here are a couple of guidelines:
      1) Only *commit* to what you’re sure you’re really do. Then do more if you want to and have the bandwidth.
      2) Over time, work on segmenting your list and email more often the people who are more interested and engaged, and less often to the people who are less interested and engaged.

  • Dana Williams says:

    Hi PJ and Emily:

As a business strategist and coach, this 1 hour and 15 minute call was easily worth hundreds of dollars. People need to listen to the entire call. Each tip that Emily gave has been battle tested and will save you weeks of frustration and hundreds of dollars. This information was pure gold!

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Wow! Thanks, Dana! ๐Ÿ˜€

    • Emily Levy says:

Thank you so much, Dana! Can I have your permission to use that as a testimonial? And if so, how would you like your name to show?

    • Yiippeee PJ and Emily .. Congratulations on creating such a valuable call…and Dana’s compliment

  • A couple of Ah-hah’s It doesn’t all have to be done NOW and stop with the half built bridges.

Thank you for a very informative call.

Also thank you Emily for sharing your beginning. Too often people only see where you are in your journey now and don’t know the backstory. The backstory helps them know they can do it too.

    Deb

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Great insights, Deb! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Thank you ladies, Well worth the time spent sharing time together. It was great to listen to all the incredible program strategies that Emily uses.

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      Thanks, Elizabeth! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Question for Emily,

I am trying to figure if this program will be a good fit for me. I am already a member of Digital Marketer Lab. My husband is super techie. I currently have both lead pages and click funnels which I use to list building. My goal is by the end of the year to get 2000 paid memberships to a community called Brilliance and Business. I know we have different tech issues of how things communicate with each other. Currently I am having to manually add people each day between one software to another. With what you offer and do, how are you a like/different, and can benefit for me/Brilliance and Business?

    Thanks

    • Emily Levy says:

So cool that you’re in Digital Marketer Lab. Other than getting your technologies to communicate better with each other, what would you hope FAB Lab could help you with?

      • My big thing is to make sure I am getting traffic to the actual website, increasing my opt in and list, and also really build a much stronger presence. What Brilliance and Business is going and offering I have not seen be offered by others out there. We are bringing together people who have different skill sets and expertise in a global hub to support each other’s business. Like what you do could benift our community, just as a health and wellness coach could help the community with eating better. It is taking out skillets and expertise and collectively supporting each other. With this in mind, I/we in leadership, really want to help create a platform for our members to expand their reach so again this goes back to having a highly visual presence on social media as well as where people can find and engage with us.

        • Probually also what would be the best strategy for that gradual and strategic growth. I know Facebook, comfortable there (learning turn on ads, but that is getting better). My personal gaps would driving traffic.

        • Emily Levy says:

I love this idea. It’s related to the way I most believe in working for social justice: using the skills we already have in service of our biggest goals. So I think I’d have a lot to offer you from that perspective. Because I’m a Certified Partner of Digital Marketer, I have access to their cutting-edge materials for building your business, beyond what’s in Digital Marketer Lab, and permission to teach them to my clients. I’m definitely not an SEO or traffic expert. If you have trouble getting around to doing the tech projects that are on your plate for your business (ones your husband doesn’t do), or if you have trouble following the steps of the Execution Plans in Digital Marketer Lab, or if having someone you’re not married to who you can go to for answers seems helpful, or if you want my social justice perspective on strategy, or some combination of these things, then I think FAB Lab could be great for you.

Your project sounds like one I’d get really excited to support!

          • Emily Levy says:

As of this posting, the bonus for the first 5 people is still available.

          • When you started talking and being introduced, my background in non-profit work was very happy to hear what you shared. We have all our local chapters be connected to their local community by partnering with a local (or a few local) non profits so that not only are we helping the person and business grow, we are also helping out the bigger world.

          • Another question, not saying that this would be an issue, but what is your policy if I decided to end the membership or put it on pause? I bring this up because I just lost 8 weeks of work due to having an emergency spine surgery.

          • Emily Levy says:

I’m so sorry to hear you had to have emergency surgery! I hope you’re healing well. I deal with emergencies like that on a case-by-case basis. So far we’ve done well at finding solutions that work for everyone.

          • Great. That is how I work with my members as well. I understand life happens and work with the person. Thanks.

    • Emily Levy says:

In other words, where is technology holding you back? What do you need to learn? How would you like to learn it?

      • Emily Levy says:

Getting help designing and implementing your own gradual and strategic approach is a great way to use FAB Lab.

  • Coach Stacy says:

    GREAT JOB!

Timely, I have to be moving & tweaking my site this summer ๐Ÿ™‚

Takeaway: ‘Follow the Yellow Brick Road through IKEA’ – through the entire store/site in this case. Makes sense.

    Thanks PJ, Thanks Emily!

After you opt in, you’ll see the page where you can get the special deal on the FAB Lab that Emily was talking about. ๐Ÿ˜€

  • 48 months at least $150K!!!! Yikes
Time to get going girl! Thanks PJ for the vehicle and Emily for the info!

    • Doing this exercise is really enlightening and motivational! I’m in the same boat.

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

Yeah! I’m feeling extra motivated now, too! ๐Ÿ˜€

  • Emily, you’re awesome.

  • Brenda says:

Since I am a retail store and not a coach, I will need to really think about a free offer.

A free e-mail manager I use is MailChimp.com and really like it for my list so far.

    • I’ve been on local retail store lists before and they have a sign up at their counter. They would send out notices for sales, so they’d say something like “Register for free to get the insider news First on our hottest sales” and maybe have sales with coupons that are ONLY offered to your email list.

If these don’t fit, then maybe they’ll inspire some other ideas for you! All Good! ๐Ÿ™‚

      • PJ Van Hulle says:

        Great ideas, JoLynn! ๐Ÿ˜€

        • Thanks PJ! They came from personal experience. ๐Ÿ™‚ AND I’m glad to hear that Brenda is at least using Mailchimp to deliver her emails to her list.

Why I say this: Because that retailer’s list I joined was sending out emails and CC’ing all email addresses they had collected. Not BCC but CC, which means that everyone’s email address was exposed with every email.

Not only was that not professional, I emailed them back and asked them to take me off of their list (since they weren’t using a professional list mailing company, there was no unsubscribe link).

Maybe there are many brick-n-mortar businesses who aren’t aware of these online basics. That would be a good market to target for anyone would would enjoy teaching that niche! ๐Ÿ™‚

    • PJ Van Hulle says:

      What’s your store?

      • Brenda says:

I do offer discounts that only go to my e-mail, but it isn’t doing enough to get people to sign up.

Seeds of Wellness is a gift store for people looking for healthy solutions to improve their well-being and people happy with their life choices. We offer a variety of products and services including Reiki, psychic readings, massage therapy and educational class.

        • PJ Van Hulle says:

That’s great! You could create a free gift for the health & wellness niche that generates interest in your products and services. What’s your most popular educational class? Perhaps you could take juicy module from there and turn it into a free report or assessment. ๐Ÿ™‚

    • I visited a really neat shop in a town while I was on vacation and signed up for their list. I signed up on their list to save 30% off of a sale over $50 and get special offers from them. My brother lives where they are and I share my offers with my sister-in-law and it spurs me to go to their website or FB page to see what they are changing or their new offers. I have sent my sister into their shop to get something for me.

      • I just visited your site and I can see ample opportunity to make this both a retail store and have a web presence.
Do you offer classes to the public?
Your opportunities are endless to move into the next phase!
