Hi PJ – Just wanted to say thanks for the resources and very clear information you gave today. I am working on rebranding and getting a new site up – for the first time in a long time I have real clarity about who my “tribe” is and how I want to serve them, so this is the perfect time for me to get back to building my list. 😉
I would have to say the info on Optimize Press and the example reconnect letters were super helpful. But what I really appreciated, was your reminder: “Progress Not Perfection” Love that!

Hi PJ…timing is perfect. I just finished rebranding and will have the new website up this summer – by August. What I loved about today’s call was you made it feel possible – supported people who might be feeling overwhelmed and broke things down into easy to understand explanations or steps.
I coach cancer survivors and caregivers so my first list of over 900+ (based on people who loved my newsletters) was not niche focused. Now my email list is only 200 but niche focused. My twitter (800+ followers) is much larger AND niche focused. It is time to start monetizing my website (video coaching/web based coaching/group telecall coaching)…but it’s the chicken and egg challenge – without a list to sell to I found even free telecalls were a waste of time. Any suggestions on getting my twitter follows over to my mailing list?
Also, I am presenting an eposter at a major convention with over 3,000 delegates from 122 countries in August…what do you suggest as a great way to capture email from medical cancer specialists? My two thoughts are a white paper download on effectiveness of coaching survivors and also some wellbeing tips for their own health which is often overlooked. Maybe tips you have about this will also help others attending live events in the summer.

Your goal with Twitter should be to have people be interested enough in you to opt in for your e-mail list. Post the link to your opt in page on Twitter.

Great first day. I especially like the information about how to start building the list using all the folks I know and the many business cards that are laying around. In fact I have a long list already written out just never implemented. I had wondered about writing a letter just as the first one you mentioned, but I thought maybe that was not quite the right thing. Yes – you could send individual messages with the same “letter”.

About 50 per hour for yahoo and hotmail too. With AOL you can request to be whitelisted so you can send to lists larger than their limit.

Hi PJ, Great call! Great Start! Will you be posting a list of the weekly dates/times of each of the Power Hour Calls and topic focus a few weeks at a time. I want to make they get on my calendar.
Good clear no fluff information. A couple of questions about optin pages. Can you create multiple pages on same URL for different optin messages or links to include with emails? I realize header is always the same.

great info! I currently have no opt in page or free goodie OR list connected to CRM. I do accept payments from clients from paypal for services. What CRM would you recommend for me to get this all started? Would constant contact be ideal or should i use aweber or another instead?
mailchimp is so easy and its free. I use it and its quick and easy to use
Use Mailchimp to get your feet wet – then move to Red Oak Cart when you want to do your autoresponders and shopping cart. It has a lot of bells & whistles without being as cumbersome as Infusionsoft. (http://bit.ly/rocmm)
how much is Red Oak Cart? I would prefer to have access to autoresponders & shopping cart & not have to transfer later on. Is it difficult to transfer list if you move from mailchimp to Red Oak?
Have a question about how to use optimizepress. You said not to use on current website and instead create new account with wordpress. Do you use the same url?
Also, if you don’t yet have a product do you start building a list?
